Cardboard bicycle!

Can the cheap material cardboard be one future way to replace metals like aluminium? This bicycle is built out of 95 % cardboard, the cheapest rawmaterial you can find in any country, says Nimrod Elmish in this Reuters clip.
The rest of it is recycled car tiers and recycled melted bottles. 100 % recycled materials. Material cost: 9 dollars!

The bicycle was invented by production line designer Izhar Gafni, an amateur cycling enthusiast.
-First it looked like a box on wheals so i tried to make it look more like a bicycle, says Gafni.

The cardboard is treated with a secret concotion that makes it water and fireproof. (Wonder if it´s toxic? writers remark)

– When you see something like this you understand that this changes the market,  says Nimrod Elmish.

– We are only in the beguinning. My vision is to see cardboard everywere! Repace metals, aluminium, and so on. It´s moore affordable, says de developer and designer Izhar Gafni.

Production is set to start in Israel on three bicycle models and a wheelchair.
